Knowledge is power. The more you know, the more you grow, and that is in any area of your life, including your career in writing. When I was younger, I read entirely too much, never realizing that it would create such a great foundation for me presently as an author and blogger. One of the greatest things that I could have ever done was pick up a book, newspaper, magazine, etc and read.
Staying informed and or having knowledge about matters outside of what the norm is for yourself lends positively to your writing career. For instance, you may not have a clue about performing a surgery, but one of the characters in your book is awake during the surgery. This is where knowledge of what takes place in the operating room may be necessary.
Therefore, become and stay informed. Your writing career may become stagnant if you don’t.
